Canadian royalty has invaded Victoria. The gladiators of our time and the men and women who make them come alive descended on our city and we loved it. Kraft Hockeyville was just a dream a few months ago, then with busy fingers this community voted so much that North Saanich and Panarama Rec Centre won the big prize. A truckload of cash and the chance to host a real hockey game. On game day both teams, the Sharks and the Canucks, slowly waded through the crowds of families and hockey fans with Sharpes ready to sign everything and anything. Our friend Kenn Shaw brought a massive hockey goalie stick that Ron MacClean graciously scrawled his name on. Mr. MacClean was exactly what he’s like on TV, personable, friendly and very gracious. He spent a lot of time with people and seemed to really enjoy the throngs of kids who took a ‘sick day’ from school to be there.

If you missed all the fun then good news! They’ll all be back again in February when Rogers Hometown Hockey rolls through Victoria in February. ~Michael

Have a listen to some excited fans I talk to before the big game!
