It was a runaway victory for Rio Olympian Lucas Bruchet yesterday in the first race of the Vancouver Island Race Series, the Harriers Pioneer 8k. Dominating the race from the start gun, the Vancouver native came close to breaking the course record, but was shy by just six seconds. Lucas finished the race in only 23minuets and 24 seconds! For the women, Rachel Cliff, also from Vancouver, crossed the finish line 26 minuets and 51 seconds!

Congrats to everyone who participated in the Vancouver Island Runners Association 8k! Even though the weather was cold, that didn’t stop the runners or their cheering squads! We look forward to being apart of the 10k in Sooke at Edward Milne school on Feb 5th, 2017.
