James Berkey headed out to Durrance Lake on the weekend with his boat to do a little fishing.

Except it was uncharacteristically frozen. And so was this little sunfish.

We saw that little guy in the ice and got it out to have a look and then put it back. ~James Berkey

Didn’t expect to ice fish when we pulled up to the lake with my boat. Got to make the best of it.

Then we walked across the lake (testing the thickness every 10 or so feet) till we got to where we normally sit when in my boat and cut a hole there and camped out for a bit.

Ended up only catching one rainbow trout, but fun none the less.

So he ended up doing a little ice-fishing. In Victoria. Go figure.
