It's time for round 2 of 'Acoustic Idol' Auditions 2010! If you're a Musician/ Songwriter and you want to get out and be heard - and help a great cause - auditions are being held at Fresh Cup in Sidney on February 25th, March 4th, and March 11th. Over $5000 has already been raised for the food bank - so lets make it even more!!!

Every Thursday night from 6pm - 9pm is Open Mic Night at Fresh Cup as well - so make sure you come out and practice before hand!!!

98.5 The OCEAN wants you to support the Michael Dunahee Keep the Hope Alive Drive 2010 by taking part in the 5K Fun Run or Walk on Sunday April 4th, 2010.  Participants can show up for pre-race activities at 9:30am at the Esquimalt Curling Rink.  You can register for the Fun Run or Walk by clicking here.

Take part in the Pre-run Dance featuring That 70's Band on Friday April 2nd at the Esquimalt Curling Rink.  The doors open at 8:00pm.  Tickets are $10 and available at The Donair Shop on 1243 Esquimalt Road.

Make sure your kids don't miss the biggest easter egg hunt of the year!!! Raising money for Cystic Fibrosis, the Kinette Club of Juan de Fuca is hosting their 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 3rd at 10am! The Hunt is open to kids ages 13 and under, and all ‘Hunters’ receive a goody bag for their efforts!

Join over 750 participants on Sunday April 11 at Willows Beach Park in Oak Bay to help end Multiple Sclerosis. You can choose from one of the following routes: 3km or 6km for those walking or using wheelchairs or scooters or 9km if you are running.

98.5 The OCEAN is proud to sponsor the 21st annual Times Colonist 10K on April 25th 2010!  The official TC10K Training Clinics start January 16 at recreational centres in Victoria and surrounding areas. This is a gradual 14 week program to prepare runners and walkers for the TC10K.  Your 14 week training program includes: TC10K Registration, 14 week training program, race shirt, technical training shirt, a graduated plan for walkers or runners of all levels, expert training tips, the support and encouragement of experienced leaders, and group support and camaraderie!  Just register at your local rec centre. The 25th Annual Victoria Hospice Swimathon is happening May 1st, 2010 from 1:00pm - 4:30pm at the Saanich Commonwealth Place Pool.

Last year, 350 participants on 38 teams raised $175,000 for Victoria Hospice.  The event attracts over 600 swimmers and teammates, volunteers and spectators ranging in age from 1 to 70 and includes professionals, business people, homeowners and students.  Swimmers of all ages and abilities participate.
