Eat Well Get Moving Initiative - Eat Well Get Moving! is a healthy weight promotion program with the aim being to encourage students to eat more vegetables and fruit and be more active. Interested schools and teachers register their classes to participate. Students are given Crunch & Go card on which they track the number of vegetables and fruit they eat and the number of minutes of activity they do. At the end of each month cards are collected for entry in the draw for prizes! Register your Class or School here
Highway to Health
Join Greater Victoria on a virtual walk! Convert all your activities, from cycling and swimming to running and walking! With your own personalized electronic conversion program you will quickly and easily see the distance you have traveled, see the total number of steps taken, receive data about your progress, and have a chance to win prizes! Log onto the interactive map of Vancouver Island at fitinfitness.ca to walk, run, skip, ski or wheel your way to health! Your personalized program will take approx 6 months to complete. Track your movement (or steps) and enjoy great prizes along the way.
Active Parents Pass

Nutrition for You- Free one hour nutrition session facilitated by a registered dietician and sponsored by Thrifty Foods. Participants names are entered into a draw at each session for two $10 Thrifty Foods Gift Cards.
Healthy Youth... Curious about the amount of protein an average teen should eat? Which foods are best before and after sports? What about which fast food restaurants are the best? The Healthy Youth seminar covers everything about healthy eating for energy, brains and brawn - foods to limit, foods to load up on and a look at healthy fast foods, beverages and supplements.
Healthy Families... Feeding the family is both art and science. Children who eat family meals together tend to have less eating disorders, less obesity, and higher academic achievement. This seminar discusses label reading, meal planning and offers loads of tips that will inspire you to take your family's nutrition to the next level.
Healthy Adults... Whether at work or at home, healthy eating can keep your energy going all day - and your waistline under control. This seminar highlights which foods to choose - and how to avoid those you shouldn't - so that you enjoy sustained energy at work and still have plenty left over for the gym or an evening with family and friends.

Library Pedometer Lending program
Greater Victoria Active Communities will be piloting a FREE Pedometer Lending program with the Greater Victoria Public Library at the Oak Bay, Esquimalt, and Saanich Centennial Branches.
