’24k Magic’ (pronounced Twenty-Four Karat Magic), is the first single from Bruno Mars’ forthcoming studio album, which will serve as the follow up to his 2012 Grammy nominated album, ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’.

Bruno revealed today on Twitter that not only would he be releasing his new single, but he would drop the album cover (see below) AND the music video for ’24k Magic’!

It had been a while since we heard new music from Bruno Mars, who last appeared on Mark Ronson’s 2014 smash hit, ‘Uptown Funk’. We did however start to hear rumblings a few months ago that new music was on its way.

Industry website, Hits Daily Double first revealed in their Rumour Mill section that Bruno would be dropping the single, “Bruno Mars is coming, but the date remains hush-hush.”

Last month, Mars’ bassist Jamareo Artis said in a interview with Bass Player, “We’ve been working on it for about a year, trying different ideas and experimenting…I don’t know what’s going to be included in the final version, but it’s going to have a new sound, and so far the material is very groove-oriented. It’ll be out sometime this year, and then we’ll hit the road again”.

In June, Skrillex confirmed that he was working with Bruno when he said, “I’m not going to give specifics of what it sounds like, but what we’re doing is so f—king different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before”.

Bruno’s dad, Pete Hernandez told PressReader back in March that Bruno’s new LP was being delayed due to his 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance, saying “It was due in March, but by doing the Super Bowl, it threw him back several months…Bruno has seven great new songs — I’ve heard ’em — but the album should now be released in September or October, to qualify for next year’s Grammy Awards.”

No word yet on a title for Bruno’s new album (or a release date), but we do know that the album is finished.
