Welcome back, Ocean Listeners!

With so many fantastic fun findin’ events to attend, last week was filled to the brim like a reusable Ocean 98.5 tote bag filled with Jello pudding to the brim. Other examples might have worked there, but MAN  can these bags hold a lot of pudding.

It was amazing meeting so many fans, you guys were appreciative and amazing, especially considering how many of you had to deal with a sweaty Fun Finder hanging off your car window, yammering about “plastic groceries” and “sustainability sacks”. Turns out I resemble an irate homeless person when I get dehydrated! I’m strongly considering introducing a new beverage to my all-coffee diet. Maybe that “water” stuff I’ve heard so much about? Regardless, keep listening to Ocean 98.5 to find out how you can get an Ocean tote of your very own!

Besides the incredible bag giveaway, I also had a blast at Colwood’s annual “Eats and Beats on the Beach” and Vintage Hot Tub’s 40th anniversary sale (which you should check out because it’s on all summer and they have TEST TUBS).

Not only that, but yesterday was the loudest, proudest, most colourful event of the season! The big finale to Pride Week 2018 is Victoria’s preeminent Pride Parade, and the Ocean Family showed up in spades!! (actually, they showed up in rainbows, because spades are hard to wear and heavy and also just completely inappropriate, I mean, can you imagine) The parade was a blast, my throat is raw from screaming, and Robin Farrell might kill me for honking the fun-mobile’s horn every 5 seconds between Pandora and Powell street.

Despite some minor ear-drum trauma and temporary hearing loss, everybody around the station seems a bit more chipper this week. Just more evidence that a little Pride goes a looooong way. 🙂

As always, a special #OceanFamily thanks to Westshore Town Centre, Beacon Hill Children’s Farm, Barb’s Fish & Chips, Peninsula Co-op, and Campus Nissan. See you next week!
