Ahhh, early January. The most magical time of the year. With all the holiday hubbub firmly in the past, we’re free to focus on all the Jan-tastic events that 2019 has to offer us! Events like…Uh…. the sun came out today!  There’s a total lunar eclipse on the 21st! And my mom’s birthday is next week, so that’s totally three whole things.

And yes, I did just coin the word Jan-tastic and I absolutely won’t apologize for it. So now that’s four things that are happening in January.

Jaaaaan-tastic.

Don’t get me wrong, I am the Fun Finder after all, and I absolutely found the most fun place to be on the whole island this last weekend. Chip in for the Kids is a fantastic event, hosted by fantastic people, supporting a fantastic cause. And they had homemade cookies too! Sounds like a win-win-win-win to me! The BC Lioness Club teams up with Davey’s Tree Expert Company once a year to help Victoria get rid of all the old Christmas trees hanging around, and best of all, there’s no cost! They only ask for donations for the Easter Seals House, which gives sick children and their families a place to stay during treatment. I absolutely love that cause, the BC Lioness Club is always a pleasure to work with, and it was such a blast to hang out with them. Look, I love wood-chippers, alright? I shouldn’t have to explain that.

I also had sometime to check out Community Days at the Royal BC Museum! That’s on until January 9th, free admission with donation! I also stopped by the last day of the Gingerbread Showcase at Parkside Hotel and Spa. I saw some fantastic sights and took pictures of most of them, be sure to check them out below!

Thanks for reading, and, as always, an enormous #OceanFamily thanks to Cupcakes at UptownMoxie’s Grill and Bar, Monk OfficeWestshore Town Centre and Campus Nissan!
