With summer coming to an end and the first day of school just around the corner, we’ve put together some tips to help make the back to school transition a breeze!

  1. Get your family back into their school day routine before the first day of school by adjusting wake up, bed times and meal times to align with what their daily schedule will be while in school.   Setting these patterns prior to the start of school with make for an easier first week back.
  2. Have your kids organize their back to school supplies into their pencil cases, binders and backpacks.  This will help to get them excited to return to school and will also give you an opportunity to make sure nothing is missing.
  3. Have your kids pick out their outfits for the first week back to help save time in the morning.  Do this for yourself too so you aren’t scrambling to get yourself ready for work while running the kids to the bus!
  4. Organize your food storage and to go containers.  Knowing what containers you have available and where to find matching lids will help make packing lunches a snap.
  5. Prep school lunches over the weekend and create an easy grab and go system by pre-portioning snacks such as cereal, crackers, fruits and veggies.
  6. Build some downtime into your schedule.  Everyone, including yourself, will likely be exhausted while adjusting to the new routin, and it’s important to schedule in some downtime so you can all relax!
