The Sidney Museum is launching its exhibit, “Up, Up, and Away – Comic-book Superheroes and Our Culture” with a Grand Opening on Sunday May 6th from noon – 2pm.

This fun, colourful and educational exhibit shows how comic book superheroes have reflected society’s history, culture and values since the 1930’s.

On display will be superhero comic books, action figures and other paraphernalia and works from students at the Comic and Graphic Novels program at Camosun College and the McTavish Academy of Art. This year look for new displays of the Bat Cave, Deadpool, Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Superman, Harley Quin and more.  The Canadian display has been expanded to include Captain Canuck and other Canadian superheroes as well as original comics from the Golden Age of Canadian Superheroes.

Plus there are activities, including a scavenger hunt, superhero cartoons and trivia. Suitable for kids and adults.
