Makoha Farm has started an initiative called the Community Food Project. It was set it up as a way to say thank you to first responders and offer support and bring happiness to families that have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We have partnered with Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the Fairfield Gonzales Community Association, and Langford Fire Rescue at this time. This program is set up to offer ongoing support to these partners throughout the farming season.
This is a community giving project. Any person can purchase a food bag ($29 or $39 options) through our website. We then put everything together, both with food from our farm and other small, local food suppliers, and deliver in a safe, contactless method while maintaining privacy of the recipients and the contributors. If you’re in a position to help right now, please consider purchasing a food bag.
Any individual can also shop for farm produce through our website that they can pick up weekly. Pick ups are offered in Langford, Saanich, and Downtown Victoria.
